    Hi,
I would appreciate if someone could tell me more about access to one's Hotmail account from Outlook Express. Well, on the online help, besides everything, it says that the access to hotmail from OE is "very limited ". Anyone knows more about it???

I was accessing my Hotmail account from OE, but it worked only for a couple of days and then there was no access to Hotmail from OE.
    Pls Help!!!!!!

I would delete it from OE, then add the account again. The "limited" has more to do with how much stuff you can have stored.(the free version).

Either Hotmail is temporaryily/or your ISP is down, or the info you entered is incorrect. When you added the new account, did you enter a valid hotmail account for existing email address you want to use?(must be a hotmail account) Can you get to your account via the internet?

I use OE to access my hotmail account, would have to say you really aren't limited with what you can do with any of the OE folders, except for the MSN announcement folder. However, you could consider not being to directly access the bulk email filters available at the website, or any other available options at the website, as limited.

    Thanks fer replying ............
Well, my ISP is not down and neither is hotmail as I am being able to access my hotmail through the website easily and my OE mail is also coming through fast enough. It's just hotmail through OE that is not coming through... and I have opened the account as needed... It did work for a couple of days and then the trouble started..... now it just shows time out w/ server...

I would delete the hotmail account. Close OE. Then do a repair of IE(OE is tied to IE) via the control panel, add/remove programs. Then re-setup your hotmail in OE..Post back good or bad.

Start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs. Highlight IE, click add/remove button. Three choices should appear. Select "repair ", follow the prompts.

well, in my control panel in the add/remove programs, IE does not appear ... (I'm sure!). I appears when I go to add/remove windows components and I can just check it off to remove.... is that what you are talkin about?

I'll ask the obvious. Did you look for Microsoft Internet Explorer? Not just "IE ".

What version of IE are you running? What version of Windows?

Try start, programs, accessories, system tools, system info, tools, "repair internet explorer ". See if its there.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned this in the beginning...
I'm using Windows XP home edition and the IE is version 6.
And yeah, I was looking for Microsoft Internet explorer...
    Thanks

XP doesn't have the repair feature. Look here to find out how to repair Internet Explorer in Win XP.
