In Excel, I want to write a formula that will force a value into an empty cell.

    Here's an example...

    =IF D14=4, then make K42=$3500, else 0.

I need the cell to remain open, meaning not putting this formula in the K42 cell, so that under other conditions, a user can type any number they want into the cell as long as D14 does not equal 4. Is this possible?
