Resolved Checking for VLC player question.

I couldn't find it on the PC World UK website. I even ran the P/N on HP Partsurfer UK and USA yielding no results. I ran HP Omen 870-206na that is listed in Bobby's System Specs and came up with P/N Z7C24EA

 

Bobby, is this correct or a typo?

Cannot seem to find HP Omen 870-203na or HP Omen 870-230na on either HP/UK or HP/US. But I can pull up the model listed in the OP System Specifications. Which is HP Omen 870-206na. The product number usually looks like this P/N WA588UA#ABA and the serial number S/N CND95212RV. Never seen the P/N or the S/N the same number as the Model and version of the machine.

 

Most frightening, it certainly appears that computer is indeed a Refurbished computer and sold to me as a New Computer by PCWorld. Of what readings in magazines certainly high lights PCWorld customers relations as very poor. Thinking on this matter, when I pointed out the fault of the DVD player, they uplifted computer and replaced without any argument. Refurbished computer will no doubt be very hard indeed to prove and cause a very hard legal battle to prove PCWorld has sold the computer as new.

 

Bobby, Please confirm the digits you showed in your Product and Serial numbers are 870-203na & 870-230na. Thanks.

 

Going back to BobbyScots original question regarding VLC player, just getting Tiles and pictures of albums I had that on my windows 8.1 mashine the version of VLC that does that is still on my pc and VLC says that this is a Beta version and a working full version is available at the website. Yes it is, I downloaded it and it works as it is supposed to.

It appears to have settled down for the noo, knowing this Computer's short history, must not hold my breath. As long as I click the DVD Player Icon>insert a chosen DVD movie>right click DVD Player icon when it shows title of inserted DVD>click Play with VLC. Sit back not too comfortable, await start of Movie (well it should).
