I heard that Verizon might be buying out AOL and Yahoo. I have searched different posts on google about what the best online calendar services would be.

Without posting links to other websites on this same topic, what is the best online calendar service if I have to switch similar to Yahoo? I know Google Calendar is a big one. Are there any other good ones out there?

    Thank you.

    Define "Best" or "Good One."

Beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder....

I use Google Calendar for a Crime Watch Group I manage and my company uses it to record requested time off. It works well for out needs.

So you might want to check it out... If it doesn't do something you need then you could ask about that.

How do you access the calendar? And which email client do you use? Outlook has a built in calendar. I use Thunderbird and google calendar, the Lightning extension for Tunderbird is a dandy calendar and can be used alone or with other calendar providers such as google.

Please, I am not asking for a software calendar: which web based calendar service is the best?

This can only be determined by you after trying the many available ones.

Is that bad? I don't know anything about Verizon, but would Yahoo be any worse off than they are now? I have several Yahoo accounts, but I access them with Outlook 2007. I don't use an online calendar though.

This is the statement listed in Yahoo Mail:
    • Yahoo and Verizon acquisition agreement announcement
    • At Yahoo, we've always been committed to providing you with great products and excellent customer support. Following the announcement of Verizon’s agreement to acquire Yahoo’s operating business, our product line-up and level of support have not changed.

Q: What happens to my favorite Yahoo products? Should I expect them to stop working at some point?
Yahoo remains an independent public company until the deal closes. We encourage you to keep using Yahoo Mail, Search, Tumblr, and Daily Fantasy Sports, and engaging with our editorial offerings across Yahoo News, Finance, Sports and Lifestyle.

I understand what you mean by this: that same statement could apply to this thread Which Anti-Virus software do you use? and people gave their comments or suggestions to that thread.
    ----------

In my thread about the calendar, I just got software based responses here. I am looking for web based responses as the title says "
Online Mail and Calendar Service similar to Yahoo"

Even if you sync to a software program or iphone, which web based service did you sign up for?

"Add your comments & suggestions!" quoted from Which Anti-Virus software do you use?
