    Hi all,

I have 6 month old Toshiba laptop with windows 10. Couple of weeks ago I installed a new printer and lot of programs started running under Task manager. I had nothing running before that unless I opened something.

I tried clicking on end task several times, but they come back in 2 seconds. I would appreciate if you could let me know what safe to remove and how to remove them.

I googled and learned to took the snapshots of the task manager, but couldn't find how to share.

Thank you and looking forward to hear from you,

    AJ

Hmmm some how there is no option of Upload a File button adjacent to the Post Reply. There is More Options button, but that doesn't have a Upload... button. I looked this whole page, but couldn't find anywhere :(.

Thinking back it was a requirement to be a subscribing member to have the ability to upload files - I'll check with Admin as to what the current situation is. As a workaround you can post the image(s) on a photo hosting site and post the URL in a post here.

I spent so much time on learning how to create photo hosting site and post the URL. So I was signing up for photobucket.com and it keep giving me error that cannot contact reCAPTCHA check your connection and try again. I do not know what to do now.

BTW, I signed up for this site (windowsbbs.com). That means I am subscribing member, right? No?

You are a Registered member - I checked :) I'm waiting on Admin for further details re. Upload a File as I posted earlier.

I have been through your screen shots and found nothing unusual in the running processes. The no. of Background Processes and Windows Processes running are normal and compare well with those running on my Windows 10 desktop - there will clearly be differences as we have different software profiles.

I don't think that you have any cause to be concerned.

In order to Upload a File a Member must have a certain number of posts and have been registered for a minimum period.

Thank you PeteC. If it's not necessary to have there, is it possible to remove them from the Task manager?

The processes that you see listed are all necessary for Windows to operate and any other open software to run - they cannot be removed from Task Manager which is a listing of what is running. If you open up another piece of installed software you will see additional processes running pertaining to that software. When that software is closed down the processes will be removed from the list - they will reappear when the software is started again.

If you want to know what each task is part of click on the Details tab in Task Manager where you can see what is running and description for each entry.

For a general explanation of Task Manager see ....
