Hi guys! Working from disgusting new laptop since my old one was stolen and have a question....

What can I remove from win10 to make my laptop work faster? I have disabled apps that I don't use and were running in the background. I ordered this laptop to be able to do several things at a time and it really is slower than the 7 year old one that was stolen did. FRUSTRATING! It just seems to stall and hang quite frequently not to have any of my installed programs on it.

    Win 7 was better.......

From a VERY happy W10 user in 2 Desktops and 1 HP Notebook I would say W10 is the fastest OS I have used in over 20 years. We will need more info regarding what W10 Version you are using and what software you have installed, ie, are you using a 3rd. party AV program??

A typical new laptop/desktop is filled with **** that the manufacturer puts on it to make some extra bucks. In my experience, these are the main cause of the problems & not Windows itself.

Download The PC Decrapifier & run it. Hopefully things would improve.

    [Windows 10 Home
    Intel Core i7-6500
    CPU @ 2.50 HGz 2.6 GHz
    8.00GB RAM
    64-bit OS

Running AVG Free & Zone Alarm
Weekly check with Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperantiSpyware

Seems most of the slowdown occurs when using MS Office programs, very slow response when entering cells on Excel and pasting in Office.

Have used Defender in the past. Only AVG and Zone Alarm are running.

Zone Alarm is not necessary anymore. Windows Firewall does a great job and has since Win. 8. Defender does a great job also. So AVG and ZA would be 2 you could dump right off the bat.

Hi T&S. Please post a new screenshot of the Logon tab in Autoruns and I can have a look at what to remove on startup on your system.
