A symbol was posted to Desktop screen, clicking "Set as Desktop background". I am unable to now remove symbol (Picture). Can this be done?

Go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Themes > It may/should be in > Apply a Theme. Right click on the picture > a Menu should popup with the word Delete > left click on Delete > then choose a Theme from the selection offered. click on your selection and close out to Desktop where the Theme you have chosen is now the Background

Thanks for your response. What I am trying to do is, to remove the symbol permanently and not show a replacement. The photo is in Settings> Background>Choose your picture and unfortunately set it as "Set as Desktop Background". This has installed Windows Symbol "similar to a figure eight, right in the centre of the Desktop screen.

Bobby, you are in Settings > Personalization > Background > there is a box with a downward arrow - click to expand and you have 3 choices. Picture,Solid color and Slideshow. If you select Solid color, a panel of colors will be presented for you to select from. Click on a color and close out to your Desktop and see if that removes the figure 8.

retiredlearner: I had to uninstall the 500GB HDD with Win 10 Pro installation. With all the updates the drive ran out of room and failed to install any updates. What a bummer.
