I have a case of 3 computers running Win 10 home. When I changed the computer names to something recognizable, the the old computer names as well as the new names show up as separate computers when I click on Network in File Explorer so there are now 6 computers showing on the network vs. the actual 3.

I restarted all machines after the name change.

I cannot see anywhere to delete those original names.

Any ideas why they are still there and cannot be removed?

    Thanks

Double click to "connect" to the old named computers and you may get a "resource no longer available" message and maybe the icon will remove.

Command Prompt > Right Click > select Run as Administrator
    Use these commands:

    ipconfig /flushdns press Enter key
    ipconfig /registerdns press Enter key
