i have Vista and use Chrome as default browser will downloading new version of Chrome save all my 100's of bookmarks, passwords etc. Google suggests updating OS
    BUT
This computer is too weak (Not enough RAM - it's an Acer Laptop) to update to Win 7, getting new computer is difficult.
    Thanks

Updating Chrome will NOT remove your existing Chrome data.
Open Chrome > click the 3 vertical dots right of the address bar > hover on Help > click About Google Chrome. It should check for updates and automatically update if needed.

The latest version will not install. You can probably download a new version but the installer will tell you it cannot be installed. You'd have to upgrade the operating system. Or use Firefox. Firefox can import your Chrome data.

Just as I thought. Ah getting a new computer - I have so many customizations and apps it always takes me days and days to get it where I want.. I guess I must bite the bullet. FF used to be my default.

after so many years & so many computers it has become a bit tiresome but then I started up with early DOS version 3 and the you could do it all in a hour or so. It was fast. I still have a DOS and it boots in 20 seconds, never crashes.
