I have somehow managed to turn off the toolbars for explorer. The instructions tell me to turn them back in the view window but since I no longer have the toolbar with view I can't do that. Any recommendations? I have imorted a new explorer.exe but that did not help.

Try putting cursor on address bar border and dragging down.

Hi Whiter, and welcome to the boards. You may have accidently put Exlporer into the full screen mode. Just hit the F11 key to toggle back to normal screen.

Thanks all, But I have tried to pull down thew bar. I get the arrow indication but it will not grab anything. I also am not in full page mode. I have a smaller box than full screen but no toolbars at all. I can get the options windo9w in the box with the file tree by right clicking but am stilol unable to restore the toolbars. Hope someone else has a recommendation. Thanks all for considering.

Did you check bretts link in his last post? If so, did you try deleting those registry keys. How long have you had this problem? If not very long, try restoring an old registry. Boot to a dos prompt and type scanreg /restore. Choose a cabfile that predates when the problem occurred (if there is one).

    Zander,
I had missed Bret's reply I will try that at home. I was afraid that it would be registry but think I can handle his recommendation. I will let you all know how I make out tomorrow morning. Or maybe this evening if I am lucky:cool:

I am home now and realize how non proficient I am. It is my windows explorer that has no toolbars not my internet explorer. Can you redirect me to correct that one.

To tell you the truth, I was assuming it was windows explorer that was giving you trouble. :) Try deleting the values in the reg keys in bretts post.

Try bringing up the pulldown menu by holding down the Alt key and hit the letter V

:) Well the solution that you gave me worked. Being a coward I tried the Alt V first but that did not work. I then did the regedit and that solved the problem. Felt some qualms as I rebooted but came up and had the toolbars. Thanks to all for the help.
