I can get from my laptop to my desktop via Teamviewer. But when I try MS Remote Desktop it asks for a password and I'm not sure which one it wants, I've got so many. Where do I find the one it wants?

Laptop is win7 / Desktop is win 10 pro

You need to use the username and password that's used to logon to the other computer. If the desktop has a username of <joe> and a password <password>, then when running remote desktop client on the laptop you'll get prompted for the username & password (joe & password). But use the actual username and password.

The desktop uses a pin at thus point. I believe I tried the login. Again., the computer user my full name in places and part of my last name in other places. Is there a location I can look at.

When you turn on the desktop you logon to it using the account username and password. That is what is required by remote desktop client on the laptop.

Yes. As Tony mentioned - it is required for remote desktop.
