After I upgraded my Win7 to Win10, MSOffice2007 used to start its install when I launched Freecell by Goodsol. I replaced MSOffice2007 with MSOffice 2010 and the problem stopped. After scanning by some 8 free malware removal programs, I also did a manual registry clean-out on the basis of advice from Avast's SmartScan which blamed those registry keys which I deleted, for reducing my PC performance. It was quite difficult to boot after that - some automatic repair had to be performed. Now once again, the install of MSOffice [2010 this time] is triggered by clicking the shortcut for running Goodsol's Freecell (AS WELL AS Freecell being opened). How can I disentangle MSOffice-install from Freecell ? Please don't suggest roll-back, because the default state for Win10 (which I left unchanged) is to have System Protection disabled.

Always either back up the registry or create a restore point before modifying anything in the registry. So called registry cleaners sometimes can do more damage than one realizes.

Repair did NOT fix the problem, nor did uninstalling and re-installing MSOffice. However, during re-install, error 1907 - about fonts - appeared, and only by IGNORING it could I continue on to get Office working. The solutions to error 1907 available on the web are mostly for O/Ss other than Win10Pro, but one dated Feb 2016 suggests DiskCleanup - which did NOT fix the problem - and toggling the firewall - it also failed to fix the problem..

I am aware of the folly of using Registry Cleaners - that is why I deliberately did it manually - nevertheless I have to admit that WHAT I deleted, was prompted by a registry cleaner.

It turns out that all that was required to fix the problem was to download a set of Default fonts and install them
