I hope some super user has discovered a way to remove cleartype in this program?? *or* if anyone can tell me if a total removal (not just disable) of IE11 can get rid of it??

I dont use IE but i use an email client which i *love*, which uses IE's font choices/settings.

I forget how now, but i was able to remove the font smoothing for IE9/windows 7 with some registry hacks.

are there any updated ones to use with ie11? I already have bad eyes and it just looks even more blurry for me, but i really do not want to use a different email client.

I tried the built in mail program but it wasnt nearly customizable enough for me to enjoy using it. i also cant quite recall now if it did use the cleartype or not.

I hope theres some sort of way to add a registry value or something to permanently disable that ****.

thats 3 versions of windows now and they still havent fully integrated the disable cleartype option. not cool microsoft, listen to your users.

I know lots dont mind it, but theres a good number who despise it as well. i love the crispy pixely fonts, so much easier to read. bigger or smaller doesnt make much difference either.

Hmmm, I don't have that option listed in my IE11. I don't believe that is an IE11 setting, but a Windows only setting.

That's for IE9 and that option is not available in IE11

In Windows 10 go to Control Panel > Display and from the left menu choose Adjust ClearType text next uncheck the Turn on ClearType.
