When I create one or more favorites I have trouble getting the displayed web site in URL to load and appear in the newly created favorite folder, such as DELL, NOS
Please help me solve this failure of the EDGE browser to execute my commands.
    Thank you, Scott

You will need to be more specific than "have trouble ". What happens when you try to load that favorite?

Bill:thank you for answering today. I was so frustrated last night that I didn't make "trouble" clear at all; my oversight.

By trouble, I meant that the favorite [scott.dietert. com/install [as a manufactured website] WILL NOT LOAD into my created folder in the favorite folder DELL NOS I have created. I tried to reload a new website into DELL NOS--IT DID NOT APPEAR IN THIS FOLDER EVEN THO THE FOLDER DID DISPLAY UNDER THE DELL SUPER FOLDER.
Next I created another folder named WINDOWS TRIAL FOLDER; I copied the website and tried to save this site in the new folder. Once again the web site will not transfer and appear in the new folder. I have been doing this for over 3 months without any trouble. I think to entire EDGE software is not capable of saving any now link. I have had transient failures, but nothing like this.
I will probably have to contact Dell support again.

Here are specifiations; with the intrinsic mouse, snipping tool images, copy and load into favorites folders I can hardly respond to you at all. This is the worst response of my Dell Inspiron 11 3000 I've seen in the 3 months since purchase from Office Deport on March 3, 2016

If you are operating W8.1 Internet Explorer 11 is the browser. Where does Edge browser get involved? Have you upgraded to W10? Neil.

What you see is the typical mixture of specifications that appear with Dell Inspiron 11 online; I am so frustrated with the errors of this Windows 10 version; my error I did not see that windows 8.1 had crept into this discussion; I am really not paying the attention I should be undertaking in this exchange tonite. I have used windows 10 on this computer since March 3, 2016.I will reload the specificatios tomorrow when I have recovered from this sudden anxiety over the terrible dysfunction of the 2-in-1 Dell Inspiron 11 over the last 3 days. :(((
I apologize to all of you thoughtful responding members.

As far as I know, Windows 10 Edge browser does not yet have a full "Organize Favorites" functionality.

Newest builds of Windows 10 Edge browser store the Favorites in a database rather than in the <User>/Favorites folder.

Edge is a work in progress by MS. Best to use a better browser such as Firefox.

Yeah, I am not seeing an easy way to manage folders under Favorites. But clearly, you can have many folders in there but it looks like you have to go directly to the folder with File Explorer to really manage them.

Maybe this will help but what concerns me is you said it worked fine for 3 months and now it doesn't. What changed??? I wonder if you run sfc /scannow if it will repair Edge?

BTW, Edge is a great browser - certainly the fastest out there which was one of Microsoft's goal with it. And keeping it fast while adding features users are used to in browsers is a real challenge as those feature add bloat, regardless how trim the coding is. Do not blame fault W10 because Edge is giving you problems.

With recent builds of Windows 10 you cannot access Edge's Favorites using File Explorer because the Edge Favorites are stored in a single database file, which is the same method used by FF & Chrome. IE is the only browser that stores Favorites/Bookmarks as individual files (shortcuts to sites) in a directory.

Edge does not use the IE Favorites directory, but it can import IE Favorites.

Here are the Windows 10, Dell Inspiron 11, Series 3000 specifications in this web site; the list is long. I hope all of use will have time tomorrow to "digest" this article.

Honestly I have decided to seek a full refund on this Dell Laptop if it is possible. I really can't take this dysfunction much longer. I've used desktop and laptop computers since at least the late 1980s!!
I have never encountered this degree of inherent failure to perform in any single pc I've ever owned.
    Have a good evening.

I hope you didn't base your decision on MS Edge....that is still a work in progress.

Did you try the regular Internet Explorer that is also on Win 10?

All of the problems that have appeared in the last week: 1]favorites manager failure; 2]snipping tool retention failure; were absent from March through May. Edge seemed to function perfectly; favorites were saved correctly; favorites folders were created and their content entered and saved; my snipping tool images were saved and managed correctly.
But the last few days have become a living nightmare; I am asking Office Depot to send this pc back to Dell and at least have the motherboard replaced. If 3 months had not expired I think I would ask for a full refund.
At least I have my 4 year old HP with windows 7 to fall back upon.
Take care. I will soon cancel this thread as it is unsolvable for we mere mortals.
A disappointed but formerly Windows 10 cheerleader.

W10 is working perfectly for 100s of millions of users - including me on my 6 systems, 3 upgraded from W7, 2 from W8.1 and this computer built new for W10. No doubt Dell makes some good stuff but any time industry standards are ignored and a company introduces proprietary modifications, problems are bound to happen. I'm just saying... .

99% success rate is considered outstanding in any business (except maybe fighting terrorist! :(:mad::mad::(). But with more than 300 million W10 users out there, that remaining 1% is still 3 million unhappy users. And 3 million unhappy people can make a lot of noise - especially with biased and unprofessional wannabe journalist seeking sensationalized, exaggerated and often totally false headlines to put over their names. :(

Don't give up on W10 yet. It is the best Windows version to date. And as Microsoft can concentrate resources more and more on just W10, it will continue to get better. The problem with W7 is it is already nearly 7 years old. The other problem is hardware makers are not designing their hardware for legacy operating systems - and they shouldn't as that just holds the hardware, and advances in technologies back. Plus W10 is the most secure Windows yet too - reason enough to stick with it.

I asked OFFICE DEPOT to examine my Dell for problems with 1] Favorites Manager and 2] Snipping Tool. Their scan and examination only found that I had unwittingly created several DELL folder under several master folders.
The pc is working well right now and the snipping tool/favorites manager also is satisfactory.
I HAVE CHANGED BY MIND; I AM BACK WITH DELL INSPIRON 11 AND EDGE.
I will start over with a clear mind and a new attitude.
All the best to all the members who have helped.
    Take care, Scott :>))
