I see that there are several postings on windows store but they seem to apply to the apps within the store. My problem is that windows store will not even come up to pick an app at all. Have tried several things but still not working.

Hi Dakota. I would move on and use method 3 and 4 in the article that Neil posted and see if you can get the Windows Store working properly.

Try running this command from an elevated prompt:
    Code:
    PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest} "
That has worked for some, but not all.

Considering what you get back, I think your only option is going to be a Reset of Windows 10.

Go to Settings > Update & security > Recovery > Reset this PC

Although this should leave your personal files in place, I'd always have a backup before starting this.

I prefer to reinstall with the ISO which allows the option to keep installed programs and files.

Which is best to download, direct or with the tool? I have Windows 10 64bit Pro. Do I download it directly to a DVD, or Flash, or to the computer first? also do i need product key if already have?

You are already running W10 so you shouldn't need to worry about the product key. The MCT (Media Creation Tool) will allow you to use the ISO on a USB flash drive or to burn to DVD using software like Image burn. Neil.
