I'm helping a friend sort out some internet connectivity problems after an upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10. I suspect the wrong password was entered initially and saved and now I can't figure out how to get to the innards of the WiFi set up to insert the correct password.

This is an apartment complex with WiFi broadcast via the hallways. There are three networks available - Resident, Guest, and Portal. The Resident network is password protected and that is the one I want to connect to. When I try to connect it doesn't give me an option to enter the User Name and Password - simply says "Can't connect to this network ". The Guest network is available to all but not password protected - that is how we are currently connected to the internet. The Portal is simply a password protected network to register wireless devices such as printers, scanners, etc.

I don't need help with the password - I have that. I just need to know where to go in Windows 10 to correct the password that I think has been saved there.

If the machine had the wrong password stored in it, you should be prompted to enter a new one.

Have you checked with the neighbors or site manager to see if the issue is on their end?

    Steve,
I don't get a prompt to enter a new password - just this
Since I can't enter the correct password at the "Connect" option on the desktop, I think I need to get into the WiFi settings but don't know how.

I have done about a dozen upgrades from W8.1 and W7 in this WiFi system described in Post #1 and haven't encountered this problem before.

Hi Robert, click on Network icon in systray > Network settings or Control Panel > Network and Sharing center > connections > details. Does W10 Troubleshooting help? Neil.

Steve, Neil, and Tony - Thanks.

Tony, your suggestion hit the mark. I was trying to update what was already in the existing profile and the key was to delete the existing profile and set up a new one. When I did that, it took the correct password and connected to the Resident network. All is well.
