I have many WIndows ISO files, they could be win7 ,8.1 ,10 Home or Pro and could be the current build or old. Is their any way to figure out what they are without installing ? Some of the ISO's have been renamed to just Windows or mounted and extracted to a USB drive. Also have some of the 'install.esd' files.

I just open/preview an ISO file with Win Explore and see a file called ReadMe.htm that tells me what the ISO is.

Thanks Steve, but the only problem with your method is I can not find any ReadMe.htm in the iso.

If I remember open the iso then right click the setup file select properties. In one of the tabs will list it.

I just looked on my main PC the "Details" tab when you right click on the setup file select properties will show the version.
