I just started Windows XP again to see what the other function keys would do. Windows started; but a white warning box on the login screen said that my profile was either corrupted or without security rights. So, it loaded a temporary profile. Now it is loading settings for Microsoft Outlook, a program I do not use.

Ok, but my previous post still stands. If you can't run the Windows Repair program from a flash drive, then your only options are to either perform a repair install or a clean install of Windows XP to get your computer back up and running.

What are you going to do moving forward?

Until I find my misplaced Windows Recovery CD, the one that restores it as the computer came from the factory, I will explore my Lazesoft Recovery Disc.

The recent private message caused me to try to bring up my XP in Safe Mode to see if I could run the Windows Repair that I burned to disc on my Windows 7. I made the disc following the guide at the beginning of this thread. However, I could not login. Where it is supposed to load personal settings after entering the password, my XP displays boxes which state at the top "Delayed Write Failed." Is there a way to burn this Windows Repair so that it starts from the disc when I power the computer up? Will it work with the .exe file burned as an .iso?

The Windows Repair program is meant to be run from within Windows so if you can't even boot into Safe Mode then that program is not going to help in this situation.

I cannot start my computer at all. Even after restoring BIOS to defaults, Windows will not boot in either Safe Mode or the full Windows. All I can do is a clean install, considering the text files gone.

Thumb drives are cheap and good in this situation for backups. You save yourself a lot of headaches.
