I started using Start8 with W8 because - well... that's pretty obvious. While Windows 10 was somewhat of a return to the W7 desktop and start menu, it was not good enough so I jumped on Start10 when it came out and HIGHLY recommend it! For $5USD, what's there to lose? That said, there's a 30 day free trial period so you really have nothing to lose.

There is also Classic Shell that many like, and it is free. But IMO, Start10 is more refined, less cluttered with extras most users don't need, and just better - obviously my opinion there.

Now, I personally don't use or have any desires to use WindowBlinds or Object Desktop (which includes Start10 and WindowBlinds). But if you are not really happy with Windows 10 desktop and Start Menu, definitely check out Start10. It is one of the best $5 I have ever spent.

Haven't you been tempted with those jazzy 'skins' Bill?

In WindowBlinds? Nah! There are lots of free themes around if I wanted to do that - though WindowBlinds makes it easy to switch back and forth, I'm a status quo kinda-guy.

I do, however use from The Exoteric Roach the "Waveform" dual monitor custom background, and for the log in screen, Radio Tower (due to my career background as a radio technician for the USAF). Other than that, I leave the themes pretty much alone.

Had to remove Start10 because the search bar would drift off the screen. It was fun at first then got annoying.

Never seen or heard of that happening before (with Start8 or Start10). I have Start10 on all my systems here.
