My Copy of Adobe Flash is no longer current. Tried Adobe site to download a new copy, installing procedure repeats that conflicting application Internet Explorer must be closed. How do you close IE 9? to enable an install of Adobe Flash Player?

Hi Bobby. You can download Adobe Flash Player from here, Adobe Flash Player. Save the download to your desktop and then after the file has finished downloading, close the browser and then run the Adobe Flash Player installer. Make sure to uncheck that Google Chrome and Google Toolbar optional offer as its not needed.

Since you mentioned that you have Internet Explorer 9 you really should upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 as you will be safer from malware threats and the newer version of Internet Explorer includes newer features such as built in spell check.

Right click on the Taskbar > Task Manager > click on the Processes tab > click on Image Name to sort alphabetically and check Show Processes from all Users. Scroll down looking for iexplore.exe and iexplore.exe*32.

If present highlight entry and click on End Process. Then try installing Flash.

BTW you should be running IE11 which is more secure than IE9 and should have been offered that via Windows Updates.

My apologies, checked and find that current IE is indeed 11. Windows Task Manager :- was processed as you suggested, and Flash has now installed. However using BBC iPlayer, it continues to show caption "FlashPlayer is not installed, install now ". Another program that uses Flash is working satisfactory, making Flash is installed. I only use iPlayer on occasions, therefore will have time to rectify this fault or if you have a remedy this will be appreciated. Thanks.
