Cd Burner and Windows XP

    Since installing Windows XP some time ago from Windows 98SE I have not been able to use my CD-Writer Its a Hewlett Packard CD-Writer Plus 8000 series. I think my need is a new driver. Can anyone who has this same problem help me out please?:eek: :eek:

    You will need the exact details. HP doesn't have generic 8000 series drivers for XP.

    Possibly on the underside of the slide tray. If not, you will have to remove the device and look on the case.

    It could be something else though. That burner will only use older disks and will fail to recognize or use the newer, faster ones. Did you maybe buy a package of the 8x-10x CDs? I think your burner will want 2x-4x.

    If I had the exact details do you know where I can get a driver for it.? The cd's I have worked before. I understand HP is not supporting the CD in Windows XP
