Since upgrading from win7 to win10 I have had a small DOS box appear occasionally onscreen, it may appear when on a webpage or when I may be doing something else, it does not appear all the time just occasionally, I can see a quick scroll of text and then it is gone, to fast for me to see what it is doing. It doesn't appear to coincide with anything in particular or any webpage but it never happened in win7 any advice would be welcome.

Hi alboy. Is it possible for you to take a screenshot of the DOS box so I can see what its doing?

You might try Performing a clean boot in Windows to see if some background program is causing the strange window to appear.

The box only appears for approx. 2-3 secs and my reactions are not quick enough to capture a screen grab, it does not appear to be causing a problem but was never there while using win7, I will try a clean boot just to see if it still appears.

This often is caused by one of your start up programs. I would also make sure you security is updated too.

My antivirus is always up to date, I don't know if it is linked but my computer has also started to switch it's self back on occasionally . I switch it off and when I come back later it is at the login screen, It does not appear to do this at any regular intervals just some days, I have applied the fix in this link http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2540785/computer-turning-suggestions-solutions.html and also disabled sleep timers in the power options will let you know if it works so far so good.

W10 will turn the computer back on (well, wake it up) to apply Windows Updates that need a reboot. It does this typically by default at 3:30AM (unless changed) when most users are not using their computers to avoid interruptions.

Other things can wake a computer. Even things like heavy foot-falls, big trucks or loud airplanes can cause a desk to vibrate enough to wake a mouse and then the computer.

Finally managed to get a screen grab of the dos box only managed to get a couple of lines but it may help with sorting the problem, The Acer Directory refereed to does not appear to exist on my machine and my machine is not an Acer computer so I don't know why the program got installed in the first place. It is mentioned on this link but has no solution http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2942517/stop-cmd-windows-appearing-time-log.html I have the driver setup utility installed on my machine but no uninstaller for it anywhere

I have managed to uninstall the Driversetuputility by using ShouldIRemoveIt located at this link http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/ It was the only program that detected the utility and gave me an uninstall option, I will post back in a few days with an update let's hope it solves the problem.
