Resolved Intermittent WiFi Asus T100h

I recently purchased an Asus T100HAN convertible notebook. The Wi-Fi is very intermittent via the Broadcom 802.11abgn SDIO card. On large downloads, I see the speed immediately jump to 14-16 Mbps, then fall slowly to 60 Kbps, then rise again. Inevitably, the download fails due to lost connection. And this is with the unit two feet away from my wireless router (AT&T UVerse's 2Wire 3800 HGV unit). My Dell laptop has no wireless problems anywhere in the house.

This is my second Asus T100: I sent the first one back to Amazon for a variety of reasons, intermittent Wi-Fi being just one. I like the unit, but a tablet without wireless connectivity is a doorstop. I looked at the advanced properties of the Broadcom card, but I don't understand much of it. Do I need to change some of the settings on the wireless card? Do I need to put a WAP behind my router? Do I need to exchange my Asus for a different brand? Help!

 

Thanks for your reply, Tony. My hours of searching have not turned up an answer, but I've seen plenty of folks with the same problem. Shame on Asus for equipping a device with Win10 and a faulty network driver.

In a flash of brilliance, I plugged in a USB wireless adapter via an OTG cable, and voila! Problem solved. Windows 10 supplied the driver. Total cost: Less than $15. I shouldn't have to use an external wi-fi card, but it beats the alternative.
