Is there any way to completely remove this notification for Win10? I had clicked on that icon (shown by the clock) and after the "Please Wait" screen appeared, it came back with the report that there is a "compatibility issue" (The CPU isn't supported).

I don't plan on purchasing a new desktop computer for (as long as this one still holds up!) so not wanting to shop for a new one at this time.

I have read a similar post http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-10/109643-w10-upgrade-fails-dont-want.html but I am not sure if this is the step/s I need to take? (I have to admit, I was somewhat confused). :(

Appreciate any insight you may offer!
    Thanks,
    Vicki

Try GWX Control Panel - works great for me on my Win 7 box which I use for reference in helping others on Win 7 and don't want updated to 10.

Thanks PeteC for that link! I downloaded the "stand alone" version and so far so good! I know before on several occasions I would receive a "pop up" type message about upgrading to Win10. Haven't had that happen yet (but it never occurred very often anyway). Hoping that this took care of that as well!

    Thanks again!
