Everytime I try to run Wnodows update I get a message Windows cannot currently check for updates, because is not running. You may need to restart your computer. I restart the same message. Tried elevated cmd prompt stoppins and starting service. with the ren the folder to old. no good.

Will do when I put the SSD back in the machine. It's also having a lot of trouble loading web pages. I thinks it's due to the fact that it's only IE 8. I created a set of recovery disks from the WDC 500GB that I am trying replace with the new 500GB SSD. Most likely will try the fix it tool tomorrow. I'll keep you updated.

It works fine for me. Try a different web browser.

I reinstalled the OS got the same problems. Install Firefox then ran the fix it tool did not fix the problem. Crucial technician said it's compatible with my notebook and that it may be defective. So I'm returning the SSD for a replacement.
