I want to install a HDD with win 8.1 Pro and let MS perform the free upgrade to Win 10 Pro. Will I still be able to swap drives from win 10 Pro back to win 7 Ult. or will I have problems when I try to reinstall the drive with win 7Ult. Like Window OS not genuine message.

    Hi lj50,
Yes, that should work if you have ALL current W8.1 updates installed. Remember to make a backup first, and check that your programs are compatible with W10.
Disable any 3rd. party AV before the Upgrade.
If you have a HDD with W7 Ult installed on it and it's legit and operating OK, it will still work on your comp OK.
You stated that you wanted to Upgrade from W8.1 to W10 - you have 30 days to go back to W8.1.
Is this an error in typing your OS?
I have 1 SSD (W10 Pro) 1 HDD (W10 Pro Insider Build) 1 HDD (Upgrade from W7 Pro to W10 Pro) and 1 HDD with Vista Business which I manually connect by cable (only 1 at a time) in this comp. I have no problem running each Drive - they all work perfectly in the comp.
I hope this is what you wanted to clarify. Neil.

I will be using the machine listed in my sys specs. But I have another drive with 8.1 Pro. I have a third drive that I was using for win 10 insider program. During that time I was swapping drives 7 Ult(which I use all the time) and the third drive with 10. Every time I tried to update to the next build through the win 10 OS. MS insisted on installing a graphics driver that was incompatible with my integrated graphics thereby putting my machine into a boot loop. I was unsure if I was allowed to keep swapping drives between OSs after 07-29-15. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
