I am running XPPro and whenever I go to Windows Explorer and click on my C drive then click Windows I get this list in BLUE
    Q328310$
    Q329048$
    Q329115$
    Q329390$
    Q329834$
    Q810565$

Then when I -EXPAND- any one or all fof the numbers listed I get
    "spuninst" in Blue.

Can someone please tell me what these numbers mean.
    Thank you, Paul

They're all backup files for Windows Hot Patches that you have installed, in case you would want to uninstall one of those.

They represent the old files that were changed or deleted when the SP was installed. I personally think it's M$ paranoia just so they can hedge any poor SP's they might render.

I have deleted all of them from my drive and then went to Control Panel and removed the entries there as well.

    I haven't regretted it yet.

    YMMV
