I have installed the Google toolbar for ie11 multiple times, but cannot get it to show. Have enabled it in Manage add-ons, still no Google toolbar. Tired of going to Google icon on desktop.

Right click on an empty area in between the red X and the address bar. Is there a check mark next to Google Tool Bar in the context menu list? If not click on that entry and that will put the check mark next to that entry. I hope this helps. My apologies if you tried this already.

    Eleanor:

I solved the Google/MS issue by opening a second web address. Until a couple of days ago I had one for Windows Explorer and a second one under a different username and e-mail address for Google. I ran them in parallel for the last four years.

Unfortunately, Win 10 has messed that up by denying access through "Edge" to sites using plug-ins. Specifically in my case, it doesn't work with Java. I regularly use several Java-based sites.

I'm sufficiently ticked off with Microsoft that I'm seriously considering switching to Apple despite over 25 years with them both at work (Boeing) and at home with Win XP. My wife got an iPad as a gift, and had taken to it so easily that maybe an Apple product is in my near future!

    Problem seemed to solve itself.
