So I was trying to transfer an old hard drive onto a new computer. So I was going through all the steps and hit clone hard drive and then it made me partition the hard drive so I selected old and new hard drive and it downloaded and when I tried turning on computer it gave me this error:

autochk program not found - skipping autocheck

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xc0000221 0x001003a8). The system has been shut down.

None of the f8 options will work it will just keep giving me that error, I tried hitting repair that did not work either. Safe mode with cmd wont even work. Not sure what to do at this point.

Who manufactured both machines. Do you have the system specs on both. Old machine first and then the new one. By giving us this information you will eliminate the possibility of receiving misinformation.

Hi michaelmhmhmh, Welcome to WindowsBBS. :) You will need to provide more info for us.
    What OS are you using?
    What cloning system?
This is what a Google search turned up: "Windows 7: STOP: C00021a Fatal System Error "
    http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/318327-stop-c00021a-fatal-system-error.html
Please be aware this info refers to W7. We don't know your OS yet. Please deal with my questions first as others may also wish to help. Neil.

    Thanks for responses,
so the computer of the hard drive I wanted to transfer information to, I have no idea the type or specs because its my dads work computer and he got rid of it. The computer that I was trying to put it on is a Windows 7 Acer Aspire, 4gb memory, i3-370m processor.

I used Apricorn Universal Hard Drive adapter, to transfer it and used there cd to clone the drive.

Your Dad's old computer a Desktop. There should be a sticker on the machine with the P/N(Product Number) or Service Tag number.

As you discovered you can't just transfer a hard drive to another computer & expect it to work. At minimum you'd have to do a repair install. For that you'll need access to the Windows installation media: Start your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive
