    Hi!
Somebody, who can tell me how to be able to update win 10 programs and other stuff, when sitting with a "metered connection (I only have 7 GB per month and do not want to pay extra for all the junk that will be down- and uploaded by win 10, but I do want the updates.)

If I’m switching it to be "non metered" then the internet activity goes up to about 20 - 25 kb constantly??? "¦and that I can not afford, besides the cued programs will not start downloading anyway?

Among the cued programs is also a Win 10 update…which I can not download.

Anybody, who has a solution to that?
(read through all the similar topics, but could not find an answer there…)

    I have Win 10 Home
using a WiFi Router to get to internet
    …and automatic updates are disabled

Hi skn, are you running Defender as your AV in W10? Most of the auto updates I have received are Security Definitions for the AV. (21) 6 further Updates and 1 awaiting (KB3081438) Total 28 at the moment.
    KB3074578
    KB3074586
    KB3081424
    KB3087916
    KB3081436
KB890830 are the installed ones if you want to check their size and content. Neil.

    Hi

Yes, Win Defender seems to work fine as an antivirus prog. No problem updating it manually. It has an update button, so no problems there.
…. and now there is no problem with the other updates either, when I started the computer today, the restriction about metered connection and downloads had changed.
I’ll guess the pending win 10 update somehow came trough during the period I switched to the non metered connection "¦. Now it downloads when I tell it to do so.
What I don’t like is that I no longer have full control of what will be updated and when, but I guess that’s because I only have the home version… Is there a huge benefit to upgrade to pro….?
    Thanks anyway

Quite often the Restart of the comp is needed to sort things out. This has been the answer to a lot of holdups in W10.
Have a read through the W10 Forum Threads and Posts as Broni has found a way to control Downloads and there are Posts regarding the differences/advantages between W10 Editions.
My Upgrades and Installs of W10 have been flawless so far and the same applies to Updates that have come through. ;) Neil.

P.S. If you consider this Thread is closed would you mark it as Resolved.

    Sure!
    Thanks.
The issue resolved it self, Win update is back to as it was in win 8.1 (other graphics, but works somewhat the same)...????
Have no idea of how, but I'm happy :)
