I have a fresh install of Win 8.1 on two laptops. I have used the same MS account on both machines. I have done this before with my desktop and work laptop.

I configured control userpasswords2 to not require a username and password on startup and now when I start the computer, it attempts to log in as "Other User ". In order to get in, I have to hit Escape and then I get the correct users' login window and enter the password.

There is only the one MS account user on the machine. The password that I entered in control userpasswords2 is correct as that is the password that lets me log into the computer

Any thoughts as to what has happened?

    Thanks

Thanks the article didn't apply as there were no other users. I did see that the username was something other than the email address that the MS account was created under. I changed the UN to what the computer says it was and it now works.

Strange as my other Win 8 machines all log in with the email address as the username.

Problem solved, thanks for the tip
