I did the W10 upgrade and MS Money stopped working. I'm back at W7pro, but I lost Money. When I try to reinstall from my CD it I get the message "autorun.inf missing or corrupt ". I am dead in the water. I really need to get Money back.

Hi caribsailor, Sorry you didn't give W10 a Fair go. You obviously didn't do an image of your W7 before trying the Upgrade or you wouldn't be asking for help. I did a Google and found this article: Windows 10 Compatibility with Microsoft Money

It may be the digit change causing your problem. Let's know if it helps. Neil.

You missed the point. I did that and got to where Money tried to start but asked to be reinstalled. When I tried to do that, I got the message "autorun.inf corrupt or missing ". So I have now lost the program completely. Doesn't matter if I am in W7 or W10, the program is gone, and I can't get it back from the disk because of the error.

I take it that this is an operating system error? Might be a good idea to run system file checker as well.

Great find in post #2, Neil.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Don't know how one figures that out. This all started with the W10 upgrade. Money insisted that it needed IE6. Googled and found a registry fix that allowed the program to run, but it insisted it needed to be reinstalled, and that's when the trouble started. Went back to W7 and the problem came with it. Now it's fixed, thanks to you. So it looks like W10 could be a problem for we die hards using Money 2004.

I use Money 2004 as well, and I am glad this came up. I'll mark it for reference.
