Only available for "Wi-Fi" connection. Still better than nothing.
It seems like Microsoft does not know internet is still pretty expensive and most are limited with download "quota" (allowance) here.

This FORCED update thing got to be stopped.

Excellent info Broni - but I would say only for VERY experienced users. I would say the average computer user would not be able differentiate between necessary updates and un-necessary ones. Neil.

Thanks for this broni. Very much appreciated. Now if only we could disable automatic driver updates without having to resort to using Microsoft's own troubleshooter as outlined here, How to temporarily prevent a Windows or driver update from reinstalling in Windows 10.

Why couldn't Microsoft just leave the ability to hide Windows Updates from within Windows Update? This is a step backward in usability with Windows 10.

If my solution works (we won't know until some update) comes the you should have a choice what to update and what don't.

Has anyone who applied this fix received notification of the today's batch of updates and if so - where/how?

    I've seen nothing yet.

    No.
My fix was supposed to give you "inform before downloading, inform before installing" like in other Windows versions but it didn't work.
Disabling updates service will probably work but that wasn't my target.
