Hi dolphin. What operating system was your computer running before Windows 10?

What software are you using for burning ?

Have you updated the printer software ?

My problems are not as bad as yours, but I do find Win 10 buggy for a release version.

My 2 Upgrades via MCT and DVD have been flawless. W10 asked me to insert my HP printer CD to finalize and that's done and all OK.
I just inserted the disc after I burned the ISO and sat back and followed instructions. I have always made sure ALL MS Updates were installed first and cleared Temp Files and did a Defrag on my Notebook (HDD spinner).
I would suggest you Revert back to your previous approved OS and if you want to try again - go the MCT (Media Create Tool) route. Neil.

W10 asked me that too and I ignored it. I NEVER ever install any printer with the printer CD because they always foist all kind of junk on our system.

So I ignored the message and went into Control Panel > Devices and Printers and there was my printer with the green check indicating it was set as my default. I told it to send a test print page and it printed. After that, no messages to insert any CD.

I recommend you try to sort out the problem instead of rolling back simply because W10 is more secure. Windows 7 is already 6 years old.

Bill: Do you still have the use of all your printer's features?

Yes, but this could depend on the printer. It has to be network ready.

My HP 7525 allows me to network in to its internal menu system by entering its IP into my browser, then entering the admin credentials. Once in, HP has a very nice - actually outstanding control panel/menu that allows me to check ink and network status, scan, fax, use HP Web Services, change admin password, print reports, clean the heads, and align the printer. In fact using this menu via my browser is MUCH EASIER than using the printer's own front panel LCD screen.

And doing it this way means I don't have to install the resource hogging HP suite of software - only the printer driver. You typically really have to hunt for the driver only the disk but I always just go out the printer's webpage and get the latest from there.
