I have a F.I.C 5650 Laptop with an Intel Celeron 333mhz processor and 32mb (soon to be 160mb) of RAM - I have recently reformated my computer installing Windows 98SE (replacing the first edition I had).....since doing so my power meter in the sys. tray no longer monitors the battery power - once unplugged the meter always reads 100% - it does so until the computer cuts out. When i switch back on (with mains power) it will charge right but if I remove the power it will still read '100%' battery power. I know the battery will last for between 3-4 hours but I would like the meter to read correctly like it used to.

The power meter describes my battery as a 'Standard APM battery' if this helps.

If further details are required please email me or reply here

    Thanks in anticpation

You might want to go to the laptop manufacturers web site and see if they have a download for you.

The one with Windows is a generic one that, as you found out, doesn't always work.

You could do a search for Power Meters on Google, I'm a little swamped right now or I'd do a quick search myself. I'm sure there are lots of programs out there.

Still no joy - i've tried a few search engines and I can only find physical meters that you plug in. There is plenty of software for Linux operating systems but i cant find any for Windows
