    Good day,

Up until recently, I could use the "View Source" option in IE to see the HTML of the current web page.

However, nowadays when I use the command, the source does not appear.

The Notepad program is normally used to show the Source, but it doesn't appear when I want to view the HTML source.

Any ideas to sort this problem out?

Does this happen on all sites? Try refreshing the page and then view source. I tried it on this page and I had to refresh in order to view it. Also, make sure that in tools->internet options->programs->HTML editor-> windows notepad is selected.

Sorry for my late response (was working).

Deleted all Temporary Internet Files, and that seems to have done the trick...

However, the problem manifested itself in an intermittent way - some (a few) websites COULD be viewed, while most COULD NOT.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Dodge
Any progress? Are you trying to view source by going up to view.....then source? Some pages have coding to disable viewing the source, by simply right clicking?

    All is well now, Daizy.

I have learned that coding can disable the View Source facility, but in my case the option was available from the "right-click" menu as well as the View menu yet when I selected it, Notepad would not operate. Thus I could not view the HTML source.

But I deleted the Temporary Internet files, and that seems to have cured this irritating problem. I am interested in website creation, and when I see a nice website I like to "View Source" to pick up tips...

Thanks for the help, people! :)
