    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a file splitter program that allows you to copy a large file to more than one CD?
    Thanks

Winrar will do it, as well as the latest version of Winzip I believe. There are other shareware programmes that will split files too.

Yes, Winzip 8.1 (Free trialware) does that very well. First use Winzip to compress the data thereby creating a .zip file. Then the function is found on the menu at ACTIONS > SPLIT and will allow you to size the results to any increments you choose.

Then of course there are several 3rd party Backup Programs that will do that for you, at a price. Their only advantage would seem to be that they can write directly to cd's in a single step, spanning as needed, whereas Winzip would use your hard drive to store the individual increments on, and then you would manually burn each on to cd's. It depends on how much your time is worth and how much convenience you're willing to buy.

    Cheers. :)

Winzip is such good stuff that I always encourage anyone who is using it on the "Never Expiring Trialware" basis to go ahead and register it. It's one of the best buys around when you consider how well they keep it upgraded to meet the needs of the users.

    Cheers. :)
