I'm new to Windows 8.1. I installed a copy of office 2007 but now I can't find it to run. It is listed under the program files, but I can't find an icon or how to run it. thanks

So when you go to All Programs->Microsoft OFFICE you don't see icons for Word and Excel?

EDIT: You should be able to drill down via Win Explorer to the C:\Program FIles (x86)\Office folder and find the Word and Excel EXE files and launch it that way and make desktop shortcuts.

Hi nw169, As Steve stated > All Programs > MS Office 2013(mine) > click on it and it will expand to show all the software. > click on Excel (eg) and it will open to Desktop where you can use it.
I have MS Office 2007 Pro installed on my W8.1 laptop and it works like a dream. Neil.

Press the "Win" key & the keyboard and type excel or word to open it.

You can also create shortcuts on desktop/taskbar.

Install Classic Start Menu. It brings back the old WinXP/7 type start menu where all the programs are listed at one place.

rsinfo, thanks for you info. I have office 2007 installed on my win 8.1 and it all shows in the appiications. I also have desktop as my startup screen and have put my frequently used programs in quick launch, so, I really don't need to install classic start menu at this time. You are correct in that I cannot find all of my programs listed in one place.
