I'd like to refresh a copy of Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit that was installed as an upgrade on a Win Vista machine. There is a Recovery partition on the drive but I do not know (but I suspect) it is the original Vista partition. I also have the Win 7 Upgrade disk that was used to do the upgrade. What is the easiest way to do a simple refresh so as not to disturb or delete any programs or drivers?

I got this one free and repalced the Mobo and it fired up. I'm giving it away when done. Just looking to Refresh not replace windows 7 as the upgrade disk came with it. The recovery partition is Vista.

Do you have a Windows 7 DVD available?

The repair install just repairs Windows 7 and doesn't restore the computer back to factory settings.

If you want to remove all personal data and you are giving the computer away to someone else then I would format all the partitions and perform a clean install of Windows 7.

I have the Win 7 Upgrade disk that came with the laptop. It aborts install as it is an older copy of windows that is on the laptop. (The Upgrade disk is older and doesn't have SP1). I called Microsoft and I could download the iso but their link is bad today so they gave me a case number for Monday and they will send me an iso disk with SP1 that I can use. I'm in no hurry.
