    Hi guys

I have an xp window foxpro application kept in a mapped Z:\ drive together with the database. When the App try to access a SubFolder XFile within, it can't access.
In dos prompt we can access the SubFolder and everything in it. The only way to get this App to access this XFile is to use TotalCommander to access the subFolder first, then App can access it.

Any wild guess what is happening. One reason the z: drive is running on xpwin home edition that limits the number of users. However even keeping environment to minimum number of users, same manifestation.

    Sounds like a permissions issue.
What account is the foxpro app running under? Can it access the mapped drive & db when the app is launched with "Run as...Administrator "?

My friend Tony is always watching, Thanks.

The app is being run as admin set in the link (see attached admin.jpg), the pc has win7 as OS.

Another observation: the user in the win7.pc has admin rights with password access. Using another user in this win7.pc with limited rights accessing without password, this problem does not occur. I think this is the clue of the problem. Hope you can put on your big thinking cap & give me a lead. :)

Have him try to run it without "run as admin" checked.
