I have a factory installed version of WindowsXP Home Edition on my computer and it has worked smoothly without any crashes or error messages, or other problems. Initially, I was able to access the Add/Remove Windows Components progran. But for several months now, I have gotten various and sundry error message and have not been able to access it.

The first one was something about Pinball. Could this be because I uninstalled the MS games that game with it? Then it changed to something else and said: "Setup was unable to open ---------. (I don't remember what program) Contact your system admn. The specific error code is blah, blah at line blah, blah ".

Now I get (Triangle w/exlamation point) "Another copy of this setup program is running. Please wait until the other setup is completed before attempting to run this program again. "

When I close that, I get (Same triangle) "Setup was unable to open information file games.inf. Contact your system adminstrator. The specific error code is OX2 at line 20ll777033. When I close that, I get: (Circle w/an X) "The application could not be initialized.

I am the sole user of this computer, so I do not understand the system administrator stuff.

BTW, the error code on the pinball message was: OX2 at line 2011806598.

I am a retired computer dummy with about 3 yrs. experience. So, don't get too technical with me. Thanks for any help that the forum can give me.

    Additional info.

BTW. I have all the service packs and updates installed.

I recently deleted MSN Messenger with a run command that I got from another site because I could not access Add/Remove Windows Components.
