    Not sure why it happened, but my thumbnail views are not showing. Going to My Picture folder I can view the thumbnail on the left hand side, but all my pictures on the right are displayed with the Internet Explorer " E " symbol in the center. I used to be able to scroll thru and view all my pictures. Any Ideas what I might have done to cause this problem

    Running windows 2000

    Sounds like somehow your picture file extensions got associated with Internet Explorer so your PC is now real confused.

    Moving this one to the 2000 section.

    For jpg's, Run: regedit

    Locate and click the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg registry key.

    Right-click the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg registry key, point to New, and then click Key. Name the new key ShellEx.

    Right-click the ShellEx registry key that you created, point to New, and then click Key. Name the new key {BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}.

    Click the {BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1} registry key that you created, right-click the Default value in the right pane, click Modify, and then type the following value data in the Value data box:
    {7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}

    Of course, if these already exist, just verify their values.

    Repeat the exact same process for gif and jpeg.

    (This problem can occur after installing Office 97, Office 2000, or after upgrading Office 2000 to Office XP.)
