[Power light is on, but computer doesn't start - black screen]

    averatec D1130EA1E-1, JUST GOT IT and all I get is a black screen, no sound, but the power light is on and the cd rom tray does come out, when I put a disk in it does spin, so ther is power but that's all. WHERE DO I START.

    Hi bebuzz68. I am assuming this is an all in one computer correct? Does the computer beep at all? If you just bought it and its not even completing POST (its just showing a black screen) then you may want to consider returning the unit and getting a refund in order to buy a different machine.

    Its not mine, and it is not new.. but it is an all in one. and it doesn't even beep.
    just wondering if the power supply might be to week to power it up right.

    Well who knows what the issue may be. It could be RAM, the power supply, the integrated video chip, or motherboard.

    You might try opening up the system and reseating the hard drive and memory if they are easy to access and see if the computer boots properly.
