    Greetings!

I work in an office where my desk faces a wall. I am looking for a small, freeware program that will allow my webcam to act as a "rear-view mirror" by placing a small window in the corner of one of my monitors, so I can see what's going on behind me. I don't need, or want, it to be fancy. It doesn't need to record or anything like that. Just be small and display the image.

    Any suggestions?
    (Windows 7 Home Premium)

    Thanks in advance!

    Brian

Hi Brian, I just had a play with my MS VX2000 Webcam and by changing the resolution to 320x240 it closes the Desktop view down and I could move the window around the screen to where I wanted it.
Unfortunately when I started to type - the webcam window minimizes to the Taskbar.
So if you want to view what's going on behind you - don't do any work on your comp at the same time.
Have to do some Googling to see if there is a program that will control it independently. Neil.

Luckily there is a simple solution to that Neil:

You can download a small lightweight program called "Always On Top" which allows you to set any windows to, (you guessed it), always be on top.

    Download link:

You can set the program to boot at start-up and then just select a window you wish to always be on top and press "CTRL+SPACEBAR "

Back in the day when I worked in cubicle city, we literately used the round automotive mirrors that we placed on our monitors... I started it in my department kind of as a joke but the idea spread like a wildfire.
