The title bar in IE6 has an icon in the upper left-hand corner that I would like to change. Anyone know where in the Registry I might find that entry? I've tried http, html, internetshortcut, url all with no success!

bluebird--This should help you replace unwanted text in the titlebar

However, I am not sure about the icon. If that icon in the upper left corner is the IE blue "e ", that is the default icon, and I am not sure it can be changed. If it is something else, then perhaps modifying the text will also change the icon. The above site will allow you to change the icon (called a "Throbber ") on the far right of the menubar.

    Hi Jim,
You describe yourself as a "beginner!" For a veginner, you sure seem to have alot of useful info. I was aware of the possibility of changing text and the Throbber, but, yes, it is the little blue "e" that I want to change. I tried using some icon modification applications but when I tried to edit or replace the icon stored in the iexplorer.exe file, would get error messages. I guess that is because the program itself would be modified and I'm beginning to suspect that the only way to do it would be to use a hex editor to go right inside the program and make the changes there. But I don't have the expertise to do that quite yet. I've done text changes before in hex but graphics would be a little beyond me.

TonyT--not a bad suggestion, but no soap. You can change the text in the title bar, the icons in the toolbar as well as the "throbber" but not the icon in the title bar. BTW, a neat program called X-Setup from http://www.xteq.com can do all of this very nicely.

TonyT--Nice little app, but it won't change the logo on the left side, only on the right!
