Someone called me and said I am not getting my windows updates, that I need to follow their directions and change a bit. They said to check them out to go to www.onlineapz.com

Granted I have not gotten an important update in a few weeks, but this is the second call. I googled the site and did not find anything suspicious.

Anyway beware they are now calling your home and trying to get you to install malware or what get access to your computer buy telling you your ISP notifies them that you are not getting windows updates.

Is this an old scam or something new?

Old scam. No one legitimate will call you about updates especially your ISP. Not even Microsoft.

Hi gary7. That's why its good to be vigilant about these type of calls. I recently had one of those scammers call my house and claim that my IP address was tracked and that my computer was infected with malware. I gave him a mouthful of harsh words that I'd rather not describe but in the end he gave up and hung up after I was having non of his BS that he was trying to pass onto me.

I am going to call my local news station and alert them. They are pretty good at airing stuff like this to warn the public.

Great idea. I wish more news agencies would do that.
