    Hi there

We are about to install a Windows 2000 network at some sites.
At one of the sites we have a task to introduce 4 Organisational Units (OU) at the same LAN. The 4 OUs should represent the 4 different organisations which share the network and some applications at this. The customers want to separate (delegate) the administration of this part of the domain with these 4 OUs at a particular LAN and to have individual administration of each OU if possible.

    My questions are:
Can this be achived and is it best practice to have more than 1 DHCP, DNS and Exchange 2000 servers e.g. 1 of these servers at each OU or will this give conflict and too much administration ?

You can delegate administration to each of the OUs. However, if you want to have DHCP, DNS and Exchanger servers running at each site you'd be better off making four domains within one Active Directory forest rather than OUs. Perhaps an even better solution (depending on your exact circumstances) would be to create Sites within one domain for each location.
