I am currently travelling and have tried to reset my computer clock to the current time zone that I am in. However there is only one option when I click the down arrow for timezone, and that is the one for my home, Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Lisbon. This is the case regardless of which way I try to change the timezone.

How can I get the list of timezones back? I have Windows 7 64-bit OS and it is fully up to date with Windows Update.

Right-click the Date and Time in the Taskbar and select "Adjust Date/Time ". Click the "Change time zone..." button. At the right end of the bar below "Time zone:" is a little black triangle (arrowhead, pointing down). Click it, select your Time zone then click OK > OK.

SpywareDr, I don't think you read my post carefully. There are NO options other than the one referred to above. The other options are all MISSING. It does not appear to matter which method I try to change the timezone, I still only get the ONE option. I have even looked on the MS support site and there are many pages but NONE that address this problem, that I can discover .

Hi arthur277, I read your Post and it sounds weird. I wonder if running sfc /scannow will find Files that may be corrupt/missing? Neil.

Where have all the timezones gone? Back now

Thank you gents for your various suggestions.

PeteC, your link to the Windows Seven forum worked a treat, and I am now showing the local time and ALL the timezones are back on the options list. Thanks for that excellent re-direct.

My only question now is, what caused it to happen? I did have a glitch with the laptop a few days ago where I could not get to my desktop, and the only icon showing was the Advanced Driver Update program. I managed after a lot of trial and error to get to a restore point and got the laptop back, and deleted the Advanced Driver Update program, just in case. The laptop seems to be running fine again. It all happened after I tried to do a driver update that failed, for some unspecified reason. I have a laptop that has been updated to Windows 7 64-bit from Vista 32-bit, and there is the usual Coprocessor exclamation mark in Device Manager. Advanced Driver Updater has identified the lack of a driver and has been unsuccessful in updating the driver. I wish someone, anyone, could tell me what the Coprocessor is or does. The only function I have lost as a result of the update is no Hibernation and my DVD-RW drive does not work(in the laptop), but that seems to be a hardware problem and I have already covered it in a previous forum post.

Glad to hear that it worked :) Most likely caused by a glitch in the Registry - whether or not this is symptomatic of other issues is anyone's guess.

With regard to the other issues you posted these are not related to this thread and should be the subject of a new thread please. In the meantime .....

Please mark your thread as 'Resolved'.

Sorry PeteC here is the solution:
Use the link below to take you to the Windows Seven Forum.

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100925-time-zones-restore-missing-default-time-zones.html
    1. Click on the download button below to download the file below.
    Restore_All_Windows_7_Default_Time_Zones.reg

    2. Save the .reg file to the Desktop.

    3. Double click on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

    4. Click on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK when prompted.

    5. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply the changes.

    6. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

This worked a treat and I now have all the time zones for the whole world!

PeteC: Please see your previous post, particularly the included 'quote' request and this:

If you were given multiple suggestions/solutions, it is also helpful if you would list the solution that worked for you.

I have done exactly as you have requested in the quote box. I think it was somewhat unnecessary for you to add the quote dialog box. I thought I made it completely clear that the solution that worked for me was the one you suggested, or perhaps I misunderstood my post. I have included the link and instructions for anyone who is not familiar with the solution, as requested.
