Maybe i'm missing something. Why would a new case or chip be any less noisy?
Maybe some wire extentions would help. Put the comp. farther away. :)

Waste of money in my book. Get some low noise fans instead and forget about the gizmos liek what you have listed.

Don't listen to them. Buy whatever you want.

ASUS has a little software program called asus probe. It monitors your cpu and MB temp among other things. You can find it on their web site.

This kinda reminds me of the bridge that was designed by a government committee and finally collapsed from its own weight.

I'll have to side with Rockster on this issue.

If you buy the good stuff, you won't need any add-ons to make it usable. Good power supplies are conservatively designed and don't require an unusual amount of air flow to keep them cool. The cheap stuff needs a hurricane! The same analogy applies to Processor chips, a true Pentium 4 runs pretty cool without much air circulation or oversized heat sinking. The wannabes need to be fanned excessively since they have to try so hard to keep up.

Good engineering will always yield a workable product with the fewest components and will thus have the fewest problems.

    Cheers. :)
btw, When you shop for a new quieter power supply, choose one that has a sound level of 55 Decibels or less. If the one you are considering doesn't list any Db. rating, find another that does. The good stuff will. fyi, A sound level of 55 Db. would correspond to the level of a normal whisper, but even that can be annoying if it persists. On the other hand, 50 Db is barely detectable and would satisfy most folks definition of quiet. Each added 6 Db. theoretically represents a doubling of the perceived amplitude. (All due credit given to Msgt. Rosch, circa 1957 for his expert opinions and guidance)
