For years I have used WeatherMate to check weather conditions I my area. WM has a facility to read out conditions for the current day. Today, a caption is displayed "Library not registered" no sound is available. In order for WM to speak the weather, Windows must be enabled for text-to-speech. Click start/settings/Control Panel/Speech to check your computer's speech settings.
Owing to my experience with Windows Speech settings being nil, I would certainly appreciate help in carrying out this task to correct error as shown in WM.

Hi BobbyScot, What OS are you operating WM in?
I've just downloaded and installed WM version 3.4.6 and it speaks the weather info just by clicking on the Speak option. My OS is W8.1 and unfortunately I can't change WM to metric system.
Have you Updated your version or do you need W8.1.Neil.

Hello Neil, thanks for your response. My OS is Windows 7 HE. WM worked ok until yesterday when the speaking part showed error. I believe metric is default, I use UK units but change by using conversion table. According to WM I have installed current version.

That (Weather Mate) is a neat little program. I just installed it on my Windows 7 setup, and it seems to be working as advertised. It will speak the current weather conditions, but it mispronounces the word "wind" (sounds like it is saying wine).

Yes I have used this program for some years, only today the speech part not working. No doubt, Windows is at fault in my case. I do not have the know how to repair error " Library not registered ", noticed another software refers to this error for speech reproduction.

The article below may be of some assistance to you.

Click on Control Panel / Speech / and look for Text to Speech in the left column (if you can't find the speech properties box according to the article's instructions).

Have you selected the correct town/city nearest to your address.
Location>All>scroll until you see location relates to you>click add.
Selected location>hilite any location that you do not require and click remove.
I hope this will be successful for you.

James, article is more dictation as in EXcel. WM refers to Library not registered, Library could be WM or Windows. Unable to trace reference Library, and reinstalling WM fails to remove error.

I thought it might be of some help with your text to speech issue.

I don't really know what to tell you about the library not registered problem. Neil posted some info about registering files in post #8.

EDIT: Here's a link to a tool that can search for dll files...

The download links are near the bottom - under feedback.

It may be that some of your dll files need re-registering, but, again, I am not proficient in this area of Windows, so you may need someone more experienced to guide you here.
